Microsilica Acryla Gel

High-Performance Microsilica Gel with Waterproofing Properties

SGW460

Powerful Waterproofing Additive for Concrete
Based on Microsilica and Copolymer Resins

What is Microsilica Acryla Gel?

Microsilica Acryla Gel is an advanced modified additive based on polycarboxylate ether and waterproofing agents. It consists of microsilica powder, a superplasticizer, water-repellent agents, and polypropylene fibers, making it one of the most effective additives for ensuring complete concrete waterproofing.

This product is used to produce high-performance, impermeable, and durable concrete. As a super pozzolan, it significantly enhances the strength, durability, and overall performance of concrete. Compared to other microsilica-based products, Microsilica Acryla Gel improves the cohesion of concrete mix components, leading to greater density, lower permeability, and increased durability of hardened concrete.

The copolymer resins in the gel enhance particle adhesion, further increasing concrete cohesion and reducing permeability. Additionally, using this product reduces cement consumption by approximately 10-15%, making it an efficient choice for concrete production.

Overall, this product is a highly engineered additive developed for creating high-performance concrete. It is particularly suitable for construction in environments exposed to chemicals, corrosive substances, or thermal stress.

Mechanism of Action of Microsilica Acryla Gel

How does this product work?

The silica fume in Microsilica Acryla Gel is a highly reactive pozzolanic material that can partially replace cement. When mixed with water and calcium hydroxide, it reacts to form calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H), which strengthens the concrete structure and enhances its mechanical properties.

Additionally, the polycarboxylate ether present in the formulation acts as a superplasticizer. It forms an adsorbed layer on cement particles, preventing their agglomeration through steric hindrance. This process creates electrostatic repulsion, increasing the workability and flowability of the concrete mix.

Polypropylene fibers improve mechanical strength and abrasion resistance, while water-repellent agents enhance adhesion in the fresh mix, increasing density and reducing permeability in hardened concrete.

Dosage of Microsilica Acryla Gel

What is the recommended dosage?

The optimal dosage of Microsilica Acryla Gel should be determined through laboratory testing, considering environmental conditions and material properties. However, the typical usage ranges between 5-7% of the cement weight in the mix.

How to Use Microsilica Acryla Gel?

What is the correct application method?

Microsilica Acryla Gel can be added to concrete in two ways:

  1. Mixing with the mixing water:
    • Blend the product with all or part of the concrete mixing water before adding dry materials.
  2. Direct addition:
    • Add the gel after introducing all other concrete components into the mix.

Important Notes:

  • At least 1 minute of mixing per cubic meter of concrete is required.
  • For long delays between mixing and placement, it is recommended to add the product in two stages:
    • First portion at the batching plant
    • Second portion 5 minutes before pouring into the truck mixer
    • Mix for an additional 2-4 minutes after the second addition
