Power Microsilica Gel (MGS400)
High-Performance Microsilica Gel Based on Polycarboxylate Ether
Description
Power Microsilica Gel is an advanced and highly efficient super-pozzolanic additive based on polycarboxylate ether and silica fume, supplemented with fillers, waterproofing agents, and polypropylene fibers. Compared to other microsilica-based products, it requires lower dosage while providing stronger water reduction. This additive enhances workability, increases slump, and improves the rheological properties of fresh concrete. After hardening, the concrete exhibits superior mechanical and electrical properties.
The high fluidity of Power Microsilica Gel allows better dispersion of silica fume, catalysts, and water-repelling agents throughout the cement paste, forming a homogeneous mix that, upon hardening, results in dense, impermeable concrete. Additionally, it reduces potential damage caused by insufficient curing in the early hours of concrete setting.
This product facilitates concrete pumping, minimizes equipment wear, and enhances the overall durability of concrete.
Mechanism of Action
Power Microsilica Gel functions through the combined effects of its key components:
- Silica fume acts as a powerful pozzolan, reacting with water and calcium hydroxide to form calcium silicate hydrates (C-S-H), which enhance the strength and durability of the concrete.
- Polycarboxylate ether disperses cement particles by forming a thin layer around them, preventing aggregation and increasing fluidity through electrostatic repulsion.
- Polypropylene fibers improve mechanical properties and abrasion resistance.
Features and Benefits
- Compatible with all types of Portland cement
- Reduces cement content by 20–25%
- Lowers water-to-cement ratio by up to 25%
- Extends workability time in the fresh state
- Minimizes the risk of shrinkage cracks
- Highly economical due to its low dosage requirements
- Compensates for the lack of fillers and fine aggregates
- Enhances pumpability and reduces equipment wear
- Prevents bleeding and segregation of aggregates
- Improves compressive, flexural, and tensile strengths
- Enhances durability against freeze-thaw cycles, chloride penetration, and sulfate attacks
- Produces highly cohesive and self-consolidating concrete
- Eliminates the need for additional superplasticizers

Dosage and Usage Instructions
- The typical dosage is 1–3% of cement weight, determined through laboratory trials.
- Before adding the product, reduce the mixing water content by 20–25% to ensure optimal performance.
- The product can be incorporated in two ways:
- Premixing with water: Mix with part or all of the mixing water before adding to dry materials.
- Direct addition: Add to the mix after all other components have been combined.
🔹 Mixing time: At least 1 minute per cubic meter of concrete.
🔹 For long-distance transport, divide the dosage into two phases:
- Add the first portion at the batching plant.
- Add the remaining portion 5 minutes before pouring and mix for 2–4 minutes in the truck mixer.
