Carboxylate Additive for Artificial Stone Production

Increases Gloss and Adhesion

Product Description: Carboxylate Stone Resin

Carboxylate Stone Resin, or simply Stone Resin, is an efficient product based on polycarboxylate ether, widely used in the production of artificial stones. When added to the mix for artificial stone production, this resin not only enhances durability, reduces permeability and water absorption, and increases the lifespan and durability of the artificial stone, but also enhances its aesthetic appeal, providing additional shine and gloss. Moreover, it prevents efflorescence in artificial stone. The use of this resin also helps to prevent separation and water retention in the cement mixture.

In general, this product is used in the creation of artificial stones, and it is characterized by features such as increasing resistance, reducing permeability, and water absorption, which collectively contribute to the longer life and durability of artificial stone. This resin also prevents efflorescence and improves the resistance of the cement mix during both early and final setting stages.

Mechanism of Action

The molecular structure of Carboxylate Stone Resin, based on polycarboxylate ether, consists of a main branch and several side branches. Preventing the space in the side branches of the polycarboxylate ether causes the particles to be repelled, and the hydrophobic force in the main part of the molecule ensures that larger molecules are absorbed by the cement particles, causing water molecules to be positioned further away from the cement particles. These properties contribute to the workability of the concrete or mortar mixture. By adding polycarboxylate ether to the concrete or mortar mix, a charged layer is formed around the cement particles, which repels the particles from each other within the mix. After the specified time, the charges formed in the concrete mix are neutralized, leading to slump loss and the beginning of cement hydration and setting processes.

How to Identify High-Quality Carboxylate Stone Resin?

The main ingredient in Carboxylate Stone Resin is polycarboxylate ether, which is further enhanced with additional additives. To identify high-quality Carboxylate Stone Resin, attention should first be paid to its viscosity. The product can be tested using an oven device to determine the percentage of solid materials it contains. Furthermore, testing can help assess the amount of air trapped within the resin. While the air content in the resin is controlled, excessive air inclusion can reduce the strength of the artificial stone.

Consumption Rate

The ideal consumption rate for achieving the desired characteristics should be determined through various site-specific tests. This depends on various factors such as ambient temperature, aggregate type and size, cement content, and the water-to-cement ratio. Typically, the recommended consumption rate of Carboxylate Stone Resin is between 0.4% to 0.8% of the weight of the cement used in the mix.

Price of Carboxylate Stone Resin

The price of Carboxylate Stone Resin depends on factors such as raw material concentration, quality, and performance. For the latest price information, it is recommended to contact the sales department of the company.

Application Method

  1. The best method for applying Carboxylate Stone Resin is to add it to a portion of the mixing water. It is recommended to add the resin to the mix 5 minutes after all materials have been fully mixed, and continue mixing until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
  2. Carboxylate Stone Resin can also be added directly to the concrete mix, but it should be done 5 minutes after all other components are mixed. The resin should be mixed for at least 3 minutes to ensure a uniform consistency.

Ensure that the resin is not added directly to dry cement.

Safety

Carboxylate Stone Resin is not classified as toxic, hazardous, or flammable.

If skin contact occurs and causes irritation, consult a physician.

Wear safety goggles, gloves, and a mask during handling.

This resin must not come into contact with the eyes. If contact occurs, flush the eyes with a large amount of potable water immediately.
