Waterproof Concrete Plasticizer
Concrete Plasticizer – Waterproofing Agent
WPL25
High-Performance Concrete Plasticizer with Waterproofing Properties
Description
Waterproof Concrete Plasticizer is a dual-purpose concrete additive formulated with plasticizers and waterproofing agents. It enhances the workability and fluidity of concrete while significantly reducing permeability and water absorption. This plasticizer lowers the water-to-cement ratio, improving early-age strength and preventing aggregate segregation and bleeding. It typically reduces concrete water content by approximately 10%.
In general, waterproofing plasticizers serve multiple purposes in concrete applications. They reduce water demand, improve durability, and enhance the waterproofing properties of concrete.
Mechanism of Action
Upon mixing with water and cement, the molecules of this plasticizer—based on polynaphthalene sulfonate—form a charged film around cement particles. This electrostatic repulsion prevents particle agglomeration, increasing fluidity and workability. Additionally, the waterproofing agents in the formulation enhance aggregate cohesion, reducing concrete permeability.

Dosage
The recommended dosage varies based on environmental conditions, material composition, and required properties. Generally, the optimal dosage is between 1.5% to 2% of the cement weight. It is advised to conduct site trials to determine the precise dosage. Overdosing may adversely affect concrete properties; consult technical experts if necessary.
Method of Use
- Pre-dilution: Mix the required amount of plasticizer with twice its volume of water.
- Integration: Gradually add the diluted solution to the concrete mix during batching or in the truck mixer.
- Mixing Time: Ensure at least 1 minute of mixing per cubic meter of concrete to achieve uniform dispersion.
- Direct Addition: It can be added directly to ready-mix concrete before pouring.
- Precaution: Do not add the product directly to dry cement.
Safety Precautions
- Non-toxic and non-hazardous under normal conditions.
- Avoid contact with eyes and skin; in case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- If skin irritation occurs or if ingested accidentally, seek medical attention immediately.
- Use protective gloves, goggles, and a mask while handling the product.
