Proofab Liquid Thread Sealant – 50ml
Description
In the past, PTFE tape was commonly used to seal threaded connections in plumbing systems, ensuring leak-free joints. However, with advancements in sealing technology, Proofab Liquid Thread Sealant has been developed as a superior alternative to traditional PTFE tape. This advanced anaerobic adhesive is specifically formulated for sealing and locking threaded metal connections, providing enhanced performance and long-lasting durability.
Once applied, the liquid thread sealant fills the gaps between threads, creating a secure, leak-proof bond that prevents fluid seepage. Due to its excellent sealing properties, this product is widely used in the construction and plumbing industries, particularly for sealing metal pipe connections in residential and industrial installations.
Compared to PTFE tape, Proofab Liquid Thread Sealant offers a more reliable and efficient sealing solution, ensuring faster application, superior resistance to leaks, and long-term durability. Additionally, it is completely safe for potable water applications and does not introduce any contamination.
This liquid sealant is suitable for brass and metal fittings, providing a secure seal for various plumbing and industrial applications, including water, air, oil, and gas systems.
As an anaerobic adhesive, the sealant cures in the absence of oxygen, bonding tightly to metal surfaces and forming a high-strength seal. If disassembly is required, the bonded parts can be separated using hand tools, and the connection can be reassembled with fresh sealant.

Consumption
The required quantity depends on the thread size and diameter. However, as a general comparison, a 50ml bottle of liquid thread sealant can replace 70 to 100 rolls of PTFE tape, making it significantly more efficient.
Instructions for Use
- Surface Preparation: Thoroughly clean the male and female threads using a dry cloth to remove any dirt, oil, or contaminants.
- Application: Apply the liquid thread sealant evenly in a 360-degree motion around the first 1 to 3 threads of the male connector.
- Assembly: Hand-tighten the fittings and rotate them until resistance is felt, ensuring a secure bond.
- Curing Time: The sealed joint should be left undisturbed for at least 24 hours at 22-24°C to achieve full curing. The curing time may vary depending on the size and material of the fittings. Always refer to the instructions on the packaging for optimal curing guidelines.
- Excess Sealant Removal: If excess sealant is present around the connection, wipe it off immediately with a dry cloth.
Disassembly & Reuse
- To disassemble a sealed connection, use standard hand tools to loosen the fitting.
- If the joint is too tight, apply localized heat up to 250°C or pour boiling water over the connection before attempting disassembly.
- After disassembly, clean any residual adhesive mechanically and wipe the surface with a suitable solvent like acetone.
- Reassembly requires fresh sealant, as the previously used adhesive cannot be reused.
