What is a Glass Block Spacer?
A Glass Block Spacer is a component that is placed between glass blocks in glass structures, such as walls and partitions. Made of durable and resistant plastic material, its main function is to prevent displacement and create the proper gap between the glass blocks.

Glass blocks have long been used for space creation and partitioning in buildings, particularly for constructing interior and exterior walls, as well as decorative glass partitions. These glass blocks come in various colors and are made from double-walled vacuum-formed glass with an empty space between the glass layers. Typically, the blocks are 8 cm thick. Due to their double-wall design, glass blocks offer excellent insulation against cold, heat, and sound, making them highly durable and efficient for building structures. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, glass blocks are widely used for their energy efficiency and soundproofing capabilities. The unique feature of glass blocks is their ability to reflect light, offering a beautiful visual effect, especially when using colored glass blocks in a wall or partition.

For the installation and arrangement of glass blocks, Glass Block Spacers are essential. These spacers are made from compressed plastic and come in two sizes: 10 mm and 5 mm. The spacer provides the required gap between the glass blocks, ensuring a consistent and uniform separation.

How to Use the Glass Block Spacer

The Glass Block Spacer is placed at the joint or intersection of the glass blocks. The installation process is as follows:

  1. First, apply the special mortar to the surface where the glass block wall or partition will be built.
  2. Place the first glass block in position.
  3. Then, insert the spacer at the top and bottom of the intersection of the glass block with the next block.
  4. Continue placing the blocks in the desired direction (longitudinal or lateral), using spacers as needed and applying mortar or special adhesive between the blocks.
  5. Once the wall or partition is complete, allow it to dry for at least 24 hours before further handling.

Amount of Use

The amount of Glass Block Spacer required depends on the joints or intersections between the glass blocks. Typically, spacers are used for every intersection between blocks.

Important Notes

  • Depending on your preference, you can use either the 10 mm or 5 mm spacer to create the same consistent gap between the glass blocks.
  • In addition to placing the spacers longitudinally and laterally, it is necessary to use mortar or special adhesive at every joint between the glass blocks to bond them securely.
  • After the wall is finished, cut off the excess spacer material using a cutter and fill in the gaps between the blocks with joint filler.

Packaging

  • Pack Size: 30 pieces per pack.
