Anchoring Adhesive (3Part)
Bar Epoxy Bond (3Part)
EX1000
High-strength 3-part mortar, suitable for rebar anchoring in concrete
Based on epoxy resins
The Anchoring Adhesive is a three-part product designed for strengthening and stabilizing concrete structures using the anchoring method with anchor bolts. This product is formulated and produced based on epoxy resins and is used for rebar anchoring in concrete floors. Additionally, the Anchoring Adhesive is applicable to various surfaces where the installation of heavy components, which require vibration control and stabilization, is necessary due to its high compressive, bending, and tensile strength.
Strengthening concrete structures is a highly important and essential topic. Strengthening refers to the use of products or materials that can increase the load-bearing capacity of a concrete structure. It also refers to solutions that restore the system’s load-bearing capacity. Concrete structure strengthening can be defined as increasing the dimensions of concrete sections or reinforcing sections by establishing a connection between the existing structure and external reinforced concrete elements. The strengthening process is usually carried out by inserting chemical anchors, where the desired anchors or rebars are placed inside the concrete structure following specific procedures. For this purpose, a hole is drilled, and the anchors or rebars are inserted and fixed within the hole using specific adhesives or mortars. The adhesive or mortar plays a crucial role in ensuring proper bonding between the concrete and steel, offering resistance to tensile and mechanical forces. This is why epoxy-based rebar anchoring adhesives are commonly used. Typically, a three-part adhesive is used for rebar anchoring on horizontal surfaces.
In general, this product is considered a construction adhesive used to insert rebar in parts of the structure that require reinforcement. Furthermore, rebar anchoring is currently one of the most common methods for enhancing the strength of concrete structures. This product is especially applicable on horizontal surfaces.
This chemical product is used for bonding rebar or reinforcement to existing concrete. It is used in construction projects to strengthen, renovate, or create new connections. The aim of using this product is to create a strong and reliable bond between the rebar and the concrete so that it can effectively transfer mechanical and dynamic loads.
Mechanism of Action of the Epoxy-based Anchoring Adhesive
What is the mechanism of action of the epoxy-based Anchoring Adhesive?
Once the components of the Anchoring Adhesive are mixed according to the instructions, a uniform and homogeneous mixture is formed, which sets to its initial hardness in a shorter time compared to conventional mortars. The epoxy resins used in the formulation of this product provide excellent mechanical resistance, as well as superior adhesion to both concrete and steel surfaces.
Properties and Effects of the Epoxy-based Anchoring Adhesive
What are the features of the Epoxy-based Anchoring Adhesive?
- It has a longer lifespan than the concrete structure itself.
- It exhibits exceptional adhesion to both concrete and steel.
- It has high chemical, tensile, and bending resistance.
- It is self-compacting.
- It does not absorb water and provides excellent tensile and compressive strength at early stages.
- It is highly resistant to seawater and sewage.
- It shows good resistance to petroleum products.
- It does not undergo shrinkage or contraction after curing.
- It provides high resistance against vibrations and structural stresses.

Consumption Rate of the Epoxy-based Anchoring Adhesive
What is the consumption rate of the Epoxy-based Anchoring Adhesive?
The mixing ratio for the 3-part rebar anchoring adhesive is:
- Volume Ratio: 2 parts of A, 1 part of B, and 7 parts of C.
- Weight Ratio: 2 parts of A, 1 part of B, and 10 parts of C.
The amount of epoxy-based anchoring adhesive required can be calculated based on the size of the hole and the volume displaced by the rebar, considering the specific gravity of the adhesive.
Application Method for the Epoxy-based Anchoring Adhesive
How is the Epoxy-based Anchoring Adhesive applied?
The surfaces to which the adhesive will be applied must be free from moisture, grease, dust, rust, and loose particles.
If the surfaces are contaminated with dust or dirt, they should be cleaned using compressed air, sandblasting, or wire brushes.
If the surfaces of the rebar or anchor bolts are rusty, they must be cleaned using rust remover materials or sandblasting to ensure a stronger bond.
Select an appropriate container with sufficient capacity to mix the 3 parts.
First, mix the liquid components of the adhesive (resin and hardener) using an electric mixer for about 3 to 4 minutes until fully combined. Then, add the powder component and continue mixing until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Ensure that the mixed mortar is used within 20 minutes after mixing.
To anchor rebar, pour the prepared adhesive mortar into the drilled hole to fill 70% of the hole’s volume. Insert the rebar into the hole, and rotate it to ensure proper contact between the adhesive and the surface.
Safety of the Epoxy-based Anchoring Adhesive
What are the important safety measures for the Epoxy-based Anchoring Adhesive?
- This product is flammable, so it should be kept away from heat and direct flame.
- Use masks and explosion-proof equipment.
- Sparks, smoking, or open flames are prohibited in the application area.
- The work area must have proper ventilation.
Storage of the Epoxy-based Anchoring Adhesive
