Some concrete structures require not only joint waterproofing but also resistance to high hydrostatic pressures during concrete pouring. These pressures may cause tearing or detachment of waterstop edges from the reinforcement structure. In such cases, a waterstop with stronger edges than conventional models is required.

The Dumbbell Flat PVC Waterstop is an ideal option for construction joints exposed to high static pressure. This product features dual-sided ribbing and reinforced dumbbell-shaped edges along its length, facilitating secure attachment to reinforcement bars.

This type of waterstop is commonly used in construction joints under high static pressure. It is manufactured in widths of 24 cm and 30 cm with thicknesses ranging from 3 mm to 5 mm. Due to its strong and tear-resistant edges, it can be easily tied to rebar grids using binding wire, making installation more convenient than standard waterstops. Additionally, it can be ordered with pre-punched holes for easier attachment to reinforcement structures.

Installation Method for Dumbbell Flat PVC Waterstop

The waterstop should be positioned at the predetermined concrete joint, ensuring that half of its width is embedded in the first pour and the other half in the second pour. Concrete should be poured gradually to prevent the waterstop from shifting. In hollow waterstops, the central cavity must align precisely with the designated expansion joint. Waterstop clips should be used for secure attachment.

Connecting Two Ends of Dumbbell Flat PVC Waterstop

There are two methods for joining waterstop ends:

1. Heat Welding: Use a hot iron to melt both ends, then press them together until they fuse into a single unit after cooling.
2. Industrial PVC Adhesive: Overlap approximately 30 cm of both ends, apply PVC-compatible industrial adhesive, and press firmly until the bond is fully secured.

Storage Conditions for Dumbbell Flat PVC Waterstop

• Store in original packaging, protected from direct sunlight.
• Cover with a protective tarp to prevent exposure to oxygen and ozone.
• Under proper storage conditions, the waterstop retains its properties for up to 12 months.
