Concrete Liquid Waterproof (WP300)
Concrete Waterproofing Additive
The Concrete Liquid Waterproof is a formulated additive consisting of plasticizers, water-resistant resins, and hydrophobic compounds. It is designed to waterproof and make various concrete, mortar, and grout mixtures impermeable. When added to concrete, the liquid’s plasticizing agents spread quickly in water, acting as a strong dispersant that helps break down clumps of cement particles. This results in a wider surface area, allowing the water in the mix to work more efficiently, leading to a more effective hydration process with less water. As a result, the water consumption is reduced by over 10%, which results in concrete with greater density and lower permeability. In addition, the addition of this additive helps fill the voids between aggregates, forming a homogeneous and cohesive mixture. The resin’s presence enhances the bond between particles, further decreasing permeability. This product not only enhances the workability of the concrete but also improves its durability, ensuring that its waterproofing properties remain intact throughout the structure’s lifespan.
This product is available in both liquid and powder forms and is recognized as a water-repellent additive that transforms all parts of the concrete into a hydrophobic material, also referred to as Waterproof Concrete. The liquid version is specifically used to waterproof and make concrete and grout surfaces impermeable.
Mechanism of Action of Concrete Waterproofing Additive
The primary ingredient of the Concrete Liquid Waterproof is a plasticizer based on lignosulfonate. When added to the mix, the polar ends of the plasticizer molecules attach to the cement particles. This reduces particle aggregation and ensures the even dispersion of the particles. As a result, this helps improve the mix’s workability, allowing the particles to spread well and increasing the concrete’s density and, consequently, reducing permeability. Additionally, the water-resistant resins in the formula enhance the bonding properties and further reduce permeability.

Consumption Rate of Concrete Waterproofing Additive
The exact consumption of Concrete Liquid Waterproof is determined through laboratory tests, taking into account the mix’s composition and the materials used. Typically, the usage rate for high-volume concrete is 2% to 2.5% of the cement weight. It’s important to note that using more than twice the recommended amount can delay the initial setting time of the concrete. However, the final strength is generally not affected and may even improve. The product can significantly increase the concrete’s workability.
Application Instructions for Concrete Waterproofing Additive
- Calculate the required amount of Concrete Liquid Waterproof according to the mix’s cement content and dilute it with twice the volume of mixing water.
- Gradually add the diluted additive to the concrete during mixing.
- The additive can also be added during the concrete production process in batching or truck mixers.
- It is important not to apply the additive directly onto dry cement.
