Perforated Base Waterstop
PVC Waterstop
Perforated base waterstops are used for sealing various types of construction joints, including the floors of concrete structures, reservoirs, pools, basins, etc., which are subject to expansion and contraction. These waterstops are placed in pre-designated locations as specified in the construction drawings, particularly in expansion joints between floors. They must be positioned in the joint area so that, after pouring the first and second concrete sections, they are perfectly aligned to effectively absorb and control the applied stresses.
Key Features of Perforated Base Waterstop
- Higher tensile strength than standard requirements
- High flexibility in both longitudinal and transverse directions
- Excellent resistance to acids and alkaline substances
- Durability equal to the lifespan of the structure
Applications of Perforated Base Waterstop
- Prevents water penetration through construction and expansion joints
- Provides watertight sealing for joints in concrete structures exposed to water and liquids
- Suitable for sealing dams, channels, and concrete pipes
- Effective for sealing hydraulic structures
- Ideal for sealing pools and artificial lakes
Installation Method for Perforated Base Waterstop
Place the waterstop in the designated location where concrete pouring is expected to be interrupted, ensuring that half of the waterstop width is embedded in the first concrete pour, and the other half is embedded in the second pour. Pour the concrete slowly to prevent displacement of the waterstop. For perforated waterstops, the process is the same, with the only difference being that the perforated section must be precisely positioned within the planned expansion joint. Use specialized clamps designed for securing and stabilizing the waterstop in place during installation.
Joining Perforated Base Waterstop Ends
Two methods can be used to join the ends of perforated base waterstops:
- Using a Hot Welding Iron: Heat both ends of the waterstop using a welding iron until they reach a molten state, then press them together. Once cooled, the joint will form a seamless connection.
- Using Industrial Adhesives: Apply an appropriate industrial adhesive suitable for bonding soft PVC. Overlap approximately 30 cm of the two ends, apply the adhesive between them, and apply pressure to ensure a strong bond.
Storage Conditions for Perforated Base Waterstop
If stored in its original packaging and protected by a cover to shield it from direct sunlight, oxygen, and ozone exposure, the specified mechanical properties will remain stable for up to 12 months.
