Perforated Wall Waterstop
PVC Waterstop
A perforated wall waterstop is designed for expansion and contraction joints. Due to its central cavity and high deformation capability, it effectively prevents water passage caused by joint movements and is highly resistant to hydraulic pressure, longitudinal displacement, tensile stress, and contraction. The ridges on its surface allow for strong adhesion to the wall, which is a key feature. This ensures that even in case of movement, the concrete remains undamaged while maintaining its waterproofing properties.
Key Features of Perforated Wall Waterstop
- Higher tensile strength than standard requirements
- High flexibility in both longitudinal and transverse directions
- Excellent resistance to acids and alkaline substances
- Service life equal to the lifespan of the structure
Applications of Perforated Wall Waterstop
- Prevents water penetration through construction and expansion joints
- Provides waterproofing for joints in concrete structures exposed to water and liquids
- Suitable for waterproofing dams, canals, and concrete pipes
- Applicable for hydraulic structures
- Used in the waterproofing of swimming pools and artificial lakes
Installation Method for Perforated Wall Waterstop
First, position the waterstop at the designated construction joint location so that half of its width is embedded in the first concrete pour, while the other half is embedded in the second pour. The concrete should be poured gradually to prevent the waterstop from shifting. For perforated waterstops, the process remains the same, except the cavity must be precisely positioned at the expansion joint location. To secure the waterstop in place, use specially designed clamps.
Joining Two Ends of the Perforated Wall Waterstop
There are two methods for joining the two ends of a perforated wall waterstop:
- Thermal Welding: Use a heating tool to melt both ends of the waterstop. Once molten, press them together to form a seamless connection. After cooling, the joint becomes a uniform, solid piece.
- Industrial Adhesives: Apply industrial adhesives suitable for soft PVC bonding. Overlap approximately 30 cm of both ends, apply the adhesive between them, and press firmly until they are fully bonded.
Storage Conditions for Perforated Wall Waterstop
If stored in its original packaging and protected with a cover to shield it from sunlight, oxygen, and ozone, the specified mechanical properties will remain stable for up to 12 months.
