Ready-to-use adhesive for bonding tiles and ceramics in a paste form
Based on acrylic resins
Description of Waterproof Tile Adhesive Paste
What is Tile Adhesive Paste?
In modern tile installation, various innovative products have been developed to facilitate the process, each offering unique benefits. One of the most critical steps in tiling is bonding tiles to the substrate. Traditionally, cement-based mortars made from a mixture of cement and stone powder were used. However, the use of such traditional mortars has become obsolete, and special ready-to-use adhesives have replaced them for tile and ceramic installation on floors and walls.
One of the most commonly used adhesives for tiling is tile adhesive paste, formulated with acrylic resins, mineral fillers, and thickening agents. This adhesive not only allows for quick tile installation and reduces the overall weight of construction materials but also maximizes interior space. In traditional methods, tiles were installed 4 to 5 cm away from the wall, with cement grout filling the gap. This process not only required a significant amount of materials but also reduced usable space. In contrast, tile adhesive paste is applied in a thin layer (4 to 5 mm), directly onto the wall, onto which the tile is placed.
Tile adhesive paste is a ready-to-use product that can be easily applied with a notched trowel in a thin layer on the surface. Additionally, this product enhances waterproofing and improves moisture resistance.
This adhesive is specifically formulated for durable tile installation and repairs, ensuring a strong and permanent bond. It is particularly ideal for installing and repairing mosaics, ceramic tiles, and wall and floor tiles. Once dry, the adhesive resists mold growth, making it suitable for areas exposed to occasional moisture.
Mechanism of Action of Waterproof Tile Adhesive Paste
How Does Waterproof Tile Adhesive Paste Work?
This adhesive is formulated with emulsion resins, mineral fillers, dispersing agents, and specialized thickeners. The presence of emulsion resin in its composition enhances adhesion, ensuring a strong bond between the tile and the substrate while also significantly improving water resistance. This feature is especially beneficial for bathrooms, kitchens, and sanitary areas, preventing water from penetrating lower levels.
The dispersing agents and thickening agents in the adhesive composition extend the gel time, providing more time for proper tile placement.

Consumption Rate of Waterproof Tile Adhesive Paste
The amount of adhesive required depends on the substrate condition (porosity, roughness, and tile grooves). However, as a general estimate, 2.5 kg of adhesive is sufficient for 1 square meter.
Application Method of Waterproof Tile Adhesive Paste
Surface Preparation
The surface must be free from dust, oil, grease, or any contaminants. If necessary, clean the surface using high-pressure water (water jet) or sandblasting.
- Wallpapered surfaces: Remove the wallpaper, apply a primer, then spread 3 to 4 mm of adhesive over 1 square meter using a notched trowel. Install tiles within 5 to 10 minutes.
- Plaster surfaces: Apply a primer (diluted tile adhesive) before tiling.
- Existing tiled surfaces: Remove grease, abrade the glaze layer, apply a primer, then spread the adhesive and install tiles.
- Concrete or cement surfaces: Apply a primer, then spread the adhesive and install tiles.
Important Notes
- Tiles bonded with this adhesive reach full strength within 48 hours. After this period, grouting can begin.
- The tiled surface should not be used for at least 2 days after grouting.
- Ensure at least 60% of the tile back is covered with adhesive.
Safety Precautions
- This adhesive is non-toxic and environmentally safe.
- Use protective gloves and safety glasses. If it comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water for at least 15 minutes.
- If it contacts the skin, wash thoroughly with water.
Storage Conditions
- Shelf life: 6 months in original packaging
