Spiral Leveling System

Spiral Leveling System

The Spiral Leveling System is the latest technology in leveling tiles and ceramics worldwide. It was first developed and manufactured by the Chemical Beton Plast Company in Iran and launched under the brand BPROFIX+. This product consists of two components in the form of a screw and nut, which are assembled together. Both parts are made of compressed and durable plastic. Inside the screw component, there is a T-shaped metal part made from high-strength spring steel.

Special Advantages of the Spiral Leveler

  • The Spiral Leveler can be used on all horizontal, vertical, and sloped surfaces.
  • It guarantees tile and ceramic stability and prevents slipping before the initial bonding of the tiles to the mortar or adhesive.
  • The result is a perfectly flat surface without edges or unevenness.
  • It ensures uniform and consistent grout joints for grouting and joint filling.
  • It prevents warping of tiles during the installation and setting stages.
  • The cost of the Spiral Leveler is lower compared to other leveling systems, as it can be reused multiple times.
  • It is easy to tighten and loosen by hand, without the need for a special wrench.
  • It reduces installer fatigue, saves time, and minimizes energy expenditure during tile installation.
  • It reduces the need for grinding and re-finishing.
  • It offers high abrasion resistance due to the use of compressed plastic in the plastic part and spring steel in the metal part of the Spiral Leveler.

Spiral Leveler Sizes

The Spiral Leveler is formulated and produced in two types based on the thickness of the tile and ceramic:

  • Medium Spiral Leveler (Red Spiral Leveler): Suitable for tiles and ceramics with a thickness of 8 to 16 millimeters.
  • Large Spiral Leveler (Blue Spiral Leveler): Suitable for tiles and ceramics with a thickness of 16 to 24 millimeters.

How to Use the Spiral Leveler

  1. First, screw the nut onto the screw.
  2. Apply tile adhesive to the surface and install the first tile or ceramic.
  3. When installing the next tiles and expanding the tiling, make sure to use tile spacers in the joints (where the tiles intersect).
  4. After assembling the screw and nut of the Spiral Leveler, insert the metal blade vertically into the gap between the two tiles or ceramics and rotate it 90 degrees so that the T-shaped blades are placed under the tiles.
  5. Tighten the nut until it reaches the tile surface, ensuring that the two tiles are aligned.
  6. After the initial setting of the mortar, loosen the leveling nut by one turn and rotate the screw 90 degrees so that the blade aligns with the grout joint and can be easily removed between the tiles.
  7. Once the mortar has fully set, proceed with grouting.

Important Notes Regarding the Spiral Leveler

  • The Spiral Leveler is specifically designed for grout joints between 2 to 6 millimeters and is not suitable for joints smaller or larger than this range. Using it for joints smaller than 2 millimeters may cause chipping when removing the leveler, and for joints larger than 6 millimeters, it may not provide sufficient force to level the tiles. In such cases, two or three times the usual number of levelers would be needed, which is not cost-effective.
  • Always select the correct Spiral Leveler size for the thickness of your tiles and ceramics. For tiles 8 to 16 millimeters thick, use the medium (red) Spiral Leveler, and for tiles 16 to 24 millimeters thick, use the large (blue) Spiral Leveler.
  • The Spiral Leveler’s primary function is to stabilize and level the tiles before the mortar reaches initial set, which occurs within 5 to 6 hours of tile installation. The leveler must be removed before this time; otherwise, it may be difficult to remove it after the mortar has fully set, potentially causing damage to the tiles.
  • After removing the leveler, clean any cement and adhesive residue with water and a brush, dry the leveler, and store it in a sealed container.
  • Always use tile spacers to ensure precise spacing between the tiles.
