Metal Clamp for Waterstop Hold

The waterstop clamp or waterstop holder is made from sheet steel and is the best method for attaching the edges of the waterstop to the rebar network. To install the waterstop onto the rebar structure, a support rod is required so that the clamp can be placed on it. Finally, the PVC waterstop sealing strip is attached to the rebar network with pressure from the clamp’s jaws. It is recommended to install one clamp every 50 cm along each side of the waterstop.

In some cases, the waterstop must be connected to the rebar network using wire. However, this connection method is not recommended at all. This is because piercing the waterstop and passing the wire through it may cause tension during concrete pouring, which will ultimately result in the waterstop tearing. To install the waterstop onto the rebar structure with wire, the edges should first be punched at regular intervals with a specific diameter, and then a steel ring should be placed inside the holes and compressed to ensure sufficient strength and resistance to tearing when the wire is passed through.

The best way to secure the waterstop within the rebar cage before concrete pouring is by using a metal waterstop clamp to attach it to the rebar structure. This method minimizes the risk of the PVC waterstop strip separating or tearing during concrete pouring.

Waterstop Clamp Installation

Note that the waterstop sheets should never be pierced for fixing, as they may tear during the second stage of concrete pouring.

The waterstop clamps are installed in a zigzag pattern, one meter apart, both above and below the waterstop sheet, and finally, the clamps are connected to the rebar.
