Wheel Sun Spacer
Plastic Wheel Sun Spacer
Solar Spacer
The Wheel Sun Spacer, also known as the Solar Spacer, is designed specifically for use on vertical surfaces with medium weight, and is primarily used for concrete pouring in sliding and climbing formworks. These spacers do not have teeth on their outer edge; instead, the outer part is covered with regular arches, providing sufficient stability. This design eliminates the risk of breaking teeth on the spacer when in contact with formwork, making the Wheel Sun Spacer ideal for heavy-duty vertical construction.
The Wheel Sun Spacer is widely used in vertical structures like walls, columns, circular sections, and in both cast-in-place and precast concrete.
For vertical surfaces exposed to heavy formwork, the Wheel Sun Spacer is preferred over spacers with teeth. The teeth can break upon contact with formwork, leading to a compromised concrete cover around the rebar. This is especially problematic with sliding or climbing formworks, where the spacer might break during movement. To address this issue, the Solar Wheel Spacer is designed with a special form to ensure durability.
This plastic cover is one of the types of spacers used to maintain an appropriate gap between the rebar and the concrete form. The spacer is designed in the shape of a wheel, allowing the rebar to pass through its center. The Wheel Sun Spacer prevents the rebar from coming into contact with the formwork, thus helping to maintain an even concrete cover and protect the rebar from corrosion.
Features of the Wheel Sun Plastic Spacer
- Specifically designed for use on medium-weight vertical surfaces
- Suitable for columns, walls, circular sections, and other vertical structures
- Helps in maintaining an even concrete cover and preventing corrosion of rebar
How to Use the Wheel Sun Plastic Spacer
- The Wheel Sun Spacer is typically placed vertically on stirrups (reinforcing bars) for formwork applications.
- In special structural conditions, the Solar Wheel Plastic Cover may also be placed on the main rebar.
Consumption Rates for the Wheel Sun Plastic Spacer
| Application | Consumption Rate |
| Vertical Surfaces with Standard Formwork | 3 spacers per square meter on each side of the surface |
| Vertical Surfaces with Heavy and Special Formwork (e.g., Sliding Formwork) | 4 to 6 spacers per square meter on each side of the wall |
| Columns (Up to 50×50 cm) | At least 16 spacers per 3-meter column height (2 spacers on each stirrup, repeated every 1.5 meters) |
| Columns Larger Than 50 cm | Number of spacers may increase up to 48 spacers at the same height for larger columns |
Important Notes Regarding the Wheel Sun Plastic Spacer
- If the stirrups or ties are outside the rebar network, the spacing of the Solar Wheel Spacers should be 75 cm apart.
- If the stirrups or ties are inside the rebar network, the Wheel Sun Spacer should be installed on the main vertical rebar.
- The Wheel Sun Spacer is designed for vertical surfaces and is not suitable for horizontal surfaces.
