MORTAR ANTI-ACID
Epoxy Anti-Acid Mortar is a two-component blend produced using a modified polyamine epoxy system. The compounds used in the formulation of this mortar are designed to ensure that its polymeric matrix remains stable after the completion of the chemical reaction and curing process, providing high chemical, mechanical, and thermal properties. This mortar is also formulated for use in areas that come into contact with chemicals.
In general, this product, also known as Acid-Resistant Mortar, is a specialized mortar formulated to withstand the corrosive effects of acids, alkalis, and other harsh chemicals. It is typically used in industrial environments where exposure to aggressive substances is a concern. The unique composition of the acid-resistant mortar forms an impermeable barrier that protects structures from potential damage due to chemical exposure. These mortars are primarily used for casting and injecting acid-resistant ceramic or carbon bricks and molds to create chemically, thermally, and mechanically resistant coatings in industries dealing with acids and chemical processes.
Properties and Effects of Epoxy Anti-Acid Mortar
- Excellent chemical resistance against a wide range of strong acids and alkalis, salts, solvents, oils, and other corrosive chemicals
- Good adhesion to mortar surfaces
- Exceptional thermal resistance
- Excellent mechanical strength
- Can provide chemical protection and coverage for surfaces without the need for tile installation
Applications of Epoxy Anti-Acid Mortar
- Installation and grouting of acid-resistant tiles and bricks
- Suitable for use in areas exposed to chemicals
- Coating surfaces in contact with aggressive chemicals, including battery rooms, food and dairy processing plants, and electrolysis tanks

Consumption Rate of Epoxy Anti-Acid Mortar
The consumption of the mortar depends on the thickness of the applied layer. Typically, the recommended consumption rate for covering 1 square meter is approximately 4 kg. For grouting operations, the consumption will vary depending on the joint volume and the specific gravity of the prepared epoxy anti-acid mortar.
Note: The minimum thickness for application should be between 2 to 4 mm.
Application Method of Epoxy Anti-Acid Mortar
- Preparation of the Surface: Ensure the surface is free from grease, dust, loose particles, moisture, and old paint.
- Leveling: If the surface is uneven, use a multi-purpose epoxy mortar to smooth it.
- Mixing: Combine the components in the correct ratio using a suitable mixer and mix in a container that matches the volume of the job.
- Application: The prepared mixture can be applied using a trowel or a finishing spatula, depending on the application type.
- Layering: To prevent sagging, apply the mixture layer by layer, allowing each layer to cure before applying the next (until a finger impression no longer leaves a mark on the surface).
Safety Precautions for Epoxy Anti-Acid Mortar
- The mortar should never be ingested or come into contact with the eyes.
- It is recommended to use a mask, gloves, and safety goggles when working with any chemical material.
- In case of accidental contact with skin or eyes, immediately rinse with clean water.
Storage Guidelines for Epoxy Anti-Acid Mortar
